The Lost Adams Manuscripts: "Hardware Antique Mac collector Phil Beesley recently bought a 'wicked fast' Mac IIfx from a computer recycler on eBay. Rooting around the hard disk, Beesley found hundreds of personal and legal documents. With no desire to pry into the previous owner's private life, he deleted them. Beesley noted that some of the software on the machine was registered to Douglas Adams, the late comic author, but because a lot of Mac wares are registered in Adams' name, Beesley paid no heed. Most of the other applications were registered to Jane Belson. Beesley did a quick Web search, which revealed Belson is Adams' widow. 'Deleting all those files suddenly seemed like a dumb thing to have done,' noted Beesley."
