Being that i am all into this wireless thing lately, i realized my facination is two fold. One i like not have to sit in front of a machine, i like walking around, sitting on the beach, under a tree, you get the idea. but also an unexpected advantage has come with wap, content is very light due to the low bandwidth and high cost of it. but see att wireless, its free!!! but i digress. anyway i like light content. fewer ads, moving gifs, superflous java and flash. wap gets rid of 99% of this crap. just give me info. anyway here are some tools that might aid the experience even what teathered.
Why Dial Up If You Can Wi-Fi? is an article over at Wired i just read. i highly suggest it. i have been wrong often but i really do belive wi-fi is the next big thing. it almost like the early days of the net. it sort of just wide oppen. all this free conectivity and stuff. very cool. anyway my friend mike just set up his first wi-fi network so i have been trying to learn about it. this seems like a good way to encourage at least urban coverage. check it out.
Design Within Reach has some truely beautiful stuff that some day i will be able to afford and fill my apartment with. When however i am not sure.

I was turned on to DFILM by my friend HT who made a movie for me with it. It was really cool. They have a flash like thing that enables you to build animated shorts to send to friends. Very cool.
Google's free WebSearch and SiteSearch allow you to add a search form to your own site. These searches can go out on the web or be limmited to just your site. Moreover Google has all this other cool stuff going on, from the same form it can also do dictionary look ups, phone numbers, maps, and alot of other stuff. Very cool.

How can I enable my site visitors to translate my page automatically? Babelfish has the answer. Add a few lines of code, just cut and paste, and have your site available in multiple languages. I saw this years ago but always forget where it was when I needed for it.

The Internet Archive, working with Alexa Internet, The Wayback Machine which makes it possible to surf pages stored in the Internet Archive's web archive. Pick a url and it gives you a set of dates to surf by.
Google Zeitgeist zeit?geist | Pronunciation: 'tsIt-"gIst, 'zIt | Function: noun | Etymology: German, from Zeit (time) Geist (spirit) | Date: 1884 | Meaning: the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era. People around the world search on Google, with a bit of analysis, this flurry of searches often exposes interesting trends, patterns, and surprises. This is really quite cool. You can see what people were thinking about at a given time. Granted google has a certain user type that gives bias, but it is still very neat.
