ZD has a really cool article about IBM, Sun, and Microsoft. The best part I believe gets lost in the shuffle about who will win. The true nugget of the article is the mention of the install base of java, "By all counts, some version of Java now exists on many more client devices than does Windows (including desktop systems, phones, gaming consoles, set top boxes and even credit cards)." Not bad. Thanks Scott.

The New Kinkos, Australia has some new coin op toys for making burned cds. These kinds of things may have been just invented but there are powers that would like to see them fade away just as quickly. The EFF just set up a blog talking about some of the new issues with digital content broadcasting and for info on copy protection specifically check Copy Protection Technical Working Group. It's a good way to keep up with all the crazy stuff going on.
