ElcomSoft Verdict: Not Guilty, A jury on Tuesday found a Russian company ElcomSoft and employee Dmitry Sklyarov, who was arrested during Defcon after giving a speech about his company's software which is designed to crack protections on Adobe Systems' eBooks making the ebooks more usable and portable (ie. blind users can have their computers turn thee text to speech), not guilty of criminal copyright charges under th DMCA!!!

Captchas, are puzzles that have the property that computers can generate and grade the tests even though they cannot pass them. The researchers decided to call their puzzles Captchas, an acronym for Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart. NYT (sub req) has a cool article on this research and what it may mean for artificial intelegence and encryption.

Got temp job on set of a movie! Lots of fun. Got temp job at talent management company. Lots of fun, learning tons. Looking for new stuff turn of the year. Applied to go back to school in LA at Southwestern for an LL.M. in entertainment and media law. It's the first program of its kind. Also got sworn in so I can now officially practice.
